I designed this house around a particularly beautiful 200 year old double balustrade free standing staircase that I found in someone’s garage full of treasures. I designed the first floor as 1 room. 23 X 43 and set the staircase 10 feet back from the front door so that the visual impact would be optimal. I added windows in the dining area that swept the floor. I surrounded the side and back of the house with over 1000 ft. of mahogany decking on the first and second floors with French doors as access. Fireplace at one end of the space. The project was a thoroughly enjoyable one. With minimal hiccups.
